“Friends of the School” Concert

The Event

We are looking for our musically talented Alumni and “Friends of the School” to join with our choir and band for this special musical event. This event is for anyone who has attended Aberdeen Christian School or First Baptist School, parents of alumni, and anyone who supports the heart and vision of ACS Please sign up early, spots in the symphonic band will be on a first come first serve basis (this is so that we do not over exceed instrumentation in any one section). We have plenty of room in the choir, so if you do not get selected to play in the band, you are invited and encouraged to join us in the choir. All band members are also invited to sing in the choir, rehearsals for both groups will never overlap.

Things to Know

The Concert will be held on Saturday May 11 in the ACS Gymnasium. Their will be a mandatory band rehearsal that morning from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, a choir rehearsal from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and a final Dress Rehearsal from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The concert will be that evening at 7:00 pm. Everyone who wishes to participate in the event, must be present at all rehearsals on May 11.

Prior to May 11, we will be hosting some community reading sessions, for both the choir and band, for those participants who are in the area and would like to get a little more practice time in on the music. These rehearsals are not required for you to participate in the event, but they are highly encouraged for anyone in the area. The dates and times for reading sessions will be determined after registration has closed.
